That's not bad!
I will be in Japan for another six months, so plenty of time to see what the lowdown is.
I'm interested in the CELTA debate and might just throw my resume around and see what happens.
I would love to teach in Indonesia but probably not at this time. I need a good stable job for a couple of years before that. From what I've heard, you just can't save anything there. Might be different for university teaching? |

6 months means you will be looking at the end of the year (Dec/Jan)?
Try to time your job search to coincide with the beginning of the school year in whatever country you are shooting for (unless you want to work in a language academy - in which case timing is less crucial.
Again, it falls back on the who do you want to teach and where do you want to go questions with respect to timing.
I would also suggest that you take a long look at China. You should be able to land a job in the 10k CNY range + housing, airfare, medical and food allowance (which would enable you to have savings on the order of 1 million yen per year) teaching at a high school or even one of the less prestigious universities if you don't' want the risk/hassle of a language academy.

| China sounds great for a short term deal. Problem is, I don't want to live in China! Not even short term. Don't get me wrong, I like Chinese people and culture just as much as everyone else. Just tired of 'East Asia.' How about the southern areas like Hunan and Fujian? |
