Dear all,

I know much has already been discussed with regards to the various companies (recruiters) in the Kingdom, however I have a few questions that I wanted to ask from those who have worked or still work with Education Experts:

1) What is your accommodation like (i.e. is it as promised) and what is the area like?
2) What good things can you say about the company?
3) What bad things can you say?
4) Have any of you had an iqama from this company which has been processed and if so, how long did it take?
5) For those with families, how long did it take to bring your families over?
6) What are the working hours like (as I know some work 40 hours over 5 days and others 48 hours over 6)?
7) What are the shifts like (are they straight or split)?

I ask all of the above questions with regards to Ed-Ex only as I know it may vary from company to company.

accommodation: stayed in a hotel room both years, had to share the room entire first year.

good things: not much

bad things: never received vacation pay or tickets home, moved to where they want you with less than 24 hrs. notice, and many more (see posts)

hours: varies depending on post and what they need. Sometimes taught 8 full hours per day or more, other time, very little work

visas: was on visit visa both years, never got iqama

family: not a family friendly company, will be lucky if you can get them to even visit you.

William, I've been watching your trials and tribulations in China for some time now. If you're considering being recruited by any of the Saudi recruiters, especially Edex, all that you are saying is "Thank you, sir, may I have another?"

If you do get on in Saudi, go directly thru the university. All these recruiters do is take a cut of your pay, and then, neglect you!

It's not something worth pursuing!

Yeah I think I have changed my mind with regards to going to Saudi this year.

Do any of you know the answer to this question:

Basically I have signed my contract etc and have my visa (for Saudi) in my passport. My question is, what would happen (or what is the worst that could happen) if I did not honour my contract (i.e. if I did not fly to Saudi)? Bear in my I have a business visa in my passport and may apply directly to universities next year. Would you say I am better of replacing my passport (as I am running out of pages anyway)?
