Here are two unis that no one talks about. Anyone have any comments?
I applied to both and no one ever returned any emails.

Well, I've made positive comments about UAEU on other threads. I made those comments after getting to know the 19 teachers from there who were coerced to move to my college (HCT--just a moment...sorry, thought I was going to hurl) as part of a cooperative debacle devised by the two institutions. They preferred UAEU over HCT hands down.

I understand that UAEU has fulfilled its faculty requirements for the fall semester.

American University in the Emirates (AUE) http://www.aue.ae

It is in DIAC- Another Acronym Smile http://www.diacedu.ae/
It's located at Block 6 on first and second floor.

I'd be more impressed if there weren't some significant typos and grammatical errors on their website.

I didn't see any listing of faculty or their credentials either - perhaps I missed it? Usually there's some "generic" faculty and admin listings and photos.

Dear heleni,

But how many other universities provide walking sticks?

" . . . offering unique and quality accredited degree programs, with outstanding faculty, staffs and provide advanced learning facilities and resources."

Regards,
John

John, they could be offering a B.A. in Mutawwa-ing, in which training staffs would be furnished.

It's not so much cleanliness, but much more Godliness!

There are plenty of threads on UAEU, they are the biggest university in the country, the national university, and have been around since the 80s. I've visited it and had many many friends who taught there over the years.

American University in the Emirates... never heard of it... likely another small private college where the only thing "American" is the word in their name.

admittedly the staffs offer is a tempting benefit - it sends up alarms to offer so many degrees at the post grad level and they've only been in existence for 2 years (and they're accredited? or was that just licensed? - perchance from the municipality?)

Check them out

What surprises me is that AUE has an endless search for PhDs and yet I know no one how has worked there.

No more surprising than the bogus 'American' University of RAK looking for Ph.D's, most of them to come from India. UAEU has an established, reasonable reputation. Ignore the other one.

It took me awhile to check around the site to find the accreditation is from the UAE Ministry. They claim ties to a long list of small US universities, mostly unknown. They use AMIDEAST for their TOEFL testing. (ie... they don't have any staff that can do it) I too couldn't find anything about who the teachers are, so I suspect that they are most, if not all, from the sub-continent and "other Arabs." Nothing wrong with that, but if you can't/won't show and identify them, it suggests that you don't want applicants to know.
