Yes, reliable connections are easy to find. The most common is a Telmex (largest phone company in Mexico) home line. Basic DSL package offers a 1 Mb connection, though you can get faster. Other companies like Axtel offer fibre optic connections at speeds up to 100 Mb, but it gets pricey at the high end. |

Guy,
Thank you for the answer.
Since I don't know anyone in Guadalajara and can't speak Spanish are there agents that I can hire to help me apply for a visa? |

If you are going to be working for a school, they will likely handle the paperwork for you. If not, you dont need an agent, just someone to translate for you, maybe look for a college student who speaks English and needs a little extra money. As of this moment, it is a fairly easy process. There are supposed to be some changes in the next few months, though no one seems to really know what they will be, or how they will effect the visa process. I have walked several people through the visa process, and they were all give the visa, they give you a list of what you need, you collect the bits o paper and take them in. They wont even accept your application if you are missing anything, so if they do accept it, that pretty much means you will get the visa. |

How difficult is it to get a job in Guadalajara that is part time and will get me a visa?
I already have a job writing for a tech website so I don't want to teach too many hours. I have a degree and five years of experience teaching English in Asia. |

There are two ways to get a work visa. In one case, a school hires you and sponsors you for the visa. I doubt that a school that would hire you for part-time would do this, but you never know. In the other case, you apply for a visa that allows you to work independently, and then you find work at a school (or schools) and perhaps look for private students. |
