What is the hardest thing you have learnt so far (grammar wise) in chinese?

I recently completed the chapter (woo hoo) on indefinite compounds (anything, something, not even one) sort of language as it is confusing???

What level of chinese do you all have? (I would guess I am a high beginner still with no writing skill)

I don't think there's much hard about learning Mandarin. It just takes time.

Maybe that's the hardest part--time. The part you learned isn't confusing at all. It's used so frequently that it becomes second nature in short order. I would spend more time reading, writing and listening.

You have to read the above title with a certain kinda lilt to get it right. Ask a student to help you with this:

喔你很機車ㄋㄟˇ!

A lot of times, students will use this word to describe a person who is:

1) obsessively picky
2) too pedantic
3) too strict

As in, "Watch out for the cops at the border of Taidong and Gaoxiung Counties. They are very ji-che."

Recently, I learned a new one: When people ask me about my tribal affiliation, I can always get a laugh by responding, "車床組." I just have to be careful about WHERE I say this.

Good luck, y'all!

Laughing That's hysterical. I haven't heard that one yet.
