Yes i am looking forward to the RWC. Am a Brit and hopefully will go to Georgia and see it from there - been be4 and have a few friends in the region - Below the six nations Georgia are number 1. I can't afford to travel to NZ - Anyway hope Georgia do well, NZ to of course. Think it will be an AB final with the Wallabies. But i hope for a less predictable comp with the weaker teams winning more. Incidentally i followed Belgium in the qualifiers and saw them bt Ukraine the Black Devils as they are called played really well but it wasn't to be their year and Russia and Romania got the only two final places that are hard to predict.
On the China topic is it possible to go on an F-visa and later upgrade to a Z with help from an employer? Getting a Z in UK means accepting a job on-line rather than going and seeing place for myself.

Technically, an F visa requires a �letter of invitation� from a Chinese company, inviting you to China (duh!) for the purpose of ��.
The visa application form also requires you to nominate (from multiple choices), your employment status & type, the name and address of your employer and the purpose of your visit to China.
Somehow visa agents in Hong Kong are able to circumvent the �letter of invitation� requirement, and the processing time (next day for F visas) indicates that no checks are done on your nominated employment / employer information.
However, Chinese embassies / consulates in the UK may (probably?) insist on a �letter of invitation� and may pay closer attention to your nominated employment / employer information.
Currently, the visa office in Hong Kong is issuing only 2 month (30 days + 30 days) F visas. 3 / 6 / 12 month F visas (subject to the applicant�s nationality) MAY again become available in October. |

| bad news. Can't enter china. Refused a visa in Hong Kong and told onl;y can apply from my country. Looking at other options maybe go to indonesia and see if I can work there. |

Take it as a sign that it was time for a change and try to figure out where it went wrong for you, and how you can make sure it doesn't do the same elsewhere.
China is not the beginning, middle or end of the world, whatever you hear--live, learn and look for something new.

thailand is much more lenienter for visas. lotsa opportunities.
cambodia ever more lenienter.
show up, hand over $25, get business visa, find work, teach.
but it seems you don't need the money..... |

great service! they pay for your flight in advance (i assume from
"the school wants to fly me"), and then they send someone to
serve as your personal assistant in hong kong. should be no
trouble for them to get you a work visa with no teachin'
certificate and no diplomer. i am amazed at how quickly they
were able to get a new visa notification letter for hong kong.
that took what -- 24 hours? shazam! they even opened the
foreign experts office on a weekend, just to print up your new
invitation! |

I have.
Some schools are desperate for teachers they could very well be doing just this.
As for the ingots, well.... having a foreigner in your school can be just the same as having a gold ingot gun-bum for some schools.
Besides, they are more valuable in Carlin than here... |

You never heard of guanxi? He seems to have serious guanxi all over Asia. Except for that Beijing thing. But that's just Beijing.

| How are you getting back in? Did you arrive in HK with an invitation letter stating HK as the processing point? You mention Beijing a lot, but what have they got to do with it? Entry/Exit, Education Departments, well they are local. Dear Sir, what have you been going on about? |

Bad news. School is not coming now. A visa agent in Hong Kong/Shenzhen tried to help me get a visa, but have said I have 3 stars in my last visa page which was issued by the beijing PSB. Thus meaning I can never enter China again. Not 5 years, but much much longer. No date has been set when I can enter China. Plan B is in Action.
I have dual citizhenship with another country. |
