A punter in British English is somebody who places a bet. It has also come to mean the victim of a confidence trickster or swindler.

As far as I can tell most credits for a Regents degree are obtaining through online or distance learning or credits from other colleges.

What part of the anatomy do the Saudis cut off for forged documents?
Not that I'm planning to forge any documents.

Nice news about the distance masters being more accepted than a regular distance degree. I always thought of distance degrees as something of a joke.

My own BA is of questionable value in the eyes of some. It would be nice to get a Masters, as I didn't specialize in my BA. Boy, I'd love to have a one word answer for what I studied. It seemed outmoded when I was getting my degree, but now, it seems to be the aspect of my education that is most referred to. The whole usefulness of an education boiled down to one word. That and a pile of debt. The answer? Another degree! More debt! No really, it'll be worth it! Hmmmm.....

From Marshall's site:

Quote:
- Residence: 24 classroom credit hours earned at any of the schools in West Virginia's public higher education system. At least 3 credit hours must be taken at Marshall University.

To me this means that you must have a minimum of 24 credit hours (obtained from a WV college/uni with at least 3 hours from Marshall).

From Shepherd's site:

Quote:
Graduation requires a total of 128 semester hours of credit with a minimum of 2.0 on all Shepherd work as well as cumulative 2.0 grade point average.**

Quote:
**Twenty-four semester hours must be earned at institutions under the administration of the West Virginia Board of Directors, with a minimum of three semester hours at the host institution (Shepherd).

Quote:
Appropriate credits, no matter by which means they are awarded, may be applied toward any requirement

Again, to me this means you must have a minimum of 24 college credit hours in the state of West Virginia with 3 hours from this particular college but all other required credits may be awarded for traditional course work or based on life and/or work experience.

Marshall lists this as a residency requirement. I assume this is the minimum number of hours for obtaining a degree because that is the minimum required to establish authority to grant the degree. This is the only "minimum" I've noticed. Other schools may differ though, based on what the governing board in their states require.
