I left TEFL after teaching overseas for four years. I had no problem getting back into IT work as my bachelors degree and pre-TEFL experience were in computer science.

I've been doing IT work for about four years now. Although it pays better I find it rather boring, and have been thinking about returning to TEFL for a while now...

Is650, you've been missed around here (I know you still check in from time to time, but I think much less often than in the past -right?) - and I expect the EFL students of the world would benefit from your return!!

I'm also thinking of escaping before I have to sit doing TEFL teaching for the rest of my life. I'm coming up to 3 years of teaching experience and for me it's either the decision to start preparing to do the DELTA or find something else.

IT looks fun and interesting though I don't have a degree in Computer Science behind me. I do have a degree in German and Economics though so something might come up. We'll have to see.

The Gulf is a good place to help TEFLers become ex-TEFLers by TEFLing ...

.. but it also has the drawback that it helps some people become ex-human ..
