I have a quick question - does anyone have an idea about getting an apostille for a 100 hour online TEFL course. I have emailed the company (ITTT) to find out where they are located. Thanks in advance

OMG! a 100 hour online TEFL course is NOT a degree!
Let's just pretend that was a slip.

There is a way to get anything apostilled in the US. The secretary of state of each state gives out different kinds of apostilles, one is on official state documents like birthcerticates. The other is on notarized copies made by notaries in their states.

I've met many notaries who have no idea that they can authenticate photocopies--as they can spend decades doing nothing but notarizing signatures. If you meet such a notary, ask them to get out their handbook--the language they need will be right there. So you make a photo copy of a document. You show the original and the photocopy to the notary and they write a statement on the back that this is indeed a true copy of an original document prestented to them by so-in-so and put their stamp on it. Then you take that notarized copy to the Secretary of State of that state and they look up the notary's file and give an apostille validating that notary as a true notary public in their state. And you just got yourself an apostille.

I know a guy (this was many years ago now) who got a Florida Apostille on his British degree this way. Immigration never batted an eye.

Mother F - I said it was a 100 hour online TEFL COURSE - not a degree. I have a BA in Anthropology. It's my understanding that both my online certification and degree need an apostiile in order to move forward teaching in Mexico. Thanks for the apostille info. Smile
