Hi all...yes I'm a newbie and I've read as much as possible (wow there's a lot!) to ensure that I don't waste any time or space with my questions on here......I hope!
For various reasons I have decided to settle in the Balearics and recently completed my Celta with a B pass in Palma. Much as I loved parts of Mallorca, it is Ibiza that my heart is settled on...and no, I'm no party animal...in fact I avoided Ibiza this August. I don't have prior teaching experience but at 35 (oh ok, nearly 36!) I have many years of people management experience and my CV has been 'updated' to reflect the transferrable skills. I am also bi lingual English/German with basic SPanish that I am eager to improve on (much easier when you are living there..)
My query is this...I am well aware that jobs are harder to come by and I may not be lucky initially but I am going over at the beginning of September to visit language schools personally (and also get a Spanish mobile phone). Am I going at the right time or ought I to leave it until a little later in the month?
If anyone has any prior or current experience living/working in Ibiza I would also be eager to hear your experiences
Thanks for reading! |

Hey
I started applying for positions in August and have been offered a couple of interviews in Barcelona and Mallorca. I think early Sep is a good shout, hopefully you have found something for the academic year by now!
Cheers
