| Nothing wrong with a blood test every year. I would want something like this enforced in my home country so no reason for me to be against it here. |
So just to be clear:
You believe that my Chinese wife should be forced to get a blood test every year if we decide to go back to my home country?
For what aim? If she is negative the first few times, then surely anything she catches it would be from a source in my home country and chances are I would get it, too.
Why not expand it to anyone with contact with her? |
This is not about your wife or mine but a general idea. Yes, I see nothing against HIV screening or screening for any other infections disease for folks who are not citizens. And no...just because HIV does not show up after one or two tests does not mean it originated in whatever country the person is now residing in if it shows up later. This logic just fails on many levels.
As to your remark ..Why not expand it to anyone with contact with her?....bah....expand it to anyone who has seen her or thought of her or called her on the phone or sent her an IM. Clearly this argument makes sense right? |

From re-washed needles or gloves covered in blood I would say yes.
Make sure new gloves are used, and the needle is new. |

i'll reply to this one;

| Further more, the blood test request is against my will, if i apply for a work permit too. My blood has already been taken and so have my taxes. Therefore, you keep it "on file". And, don't discriminate against me and my family. |
Don't take it them, as you have that option. Of course if you want to continue to work and live within the parameters of another government's jurisdiction then you will likely have to abide by regulations as they stand, that is unless, your cleaver enough to find a way around it or an authority that can bend regulations in your favor. The ever changing health of individuals would dictate a periodic testing so it would appear that your are requesting a special status given to those foreigners who pay taxes and own homes.

What you don't understand is that some FTs may have varieties of reasons to have made their choices. They may not necessarily "whine about getting a needle stuck in their arm", but they may "whine" about the reasons behind it and/or about the safety concerns such regulations may pose. |
I think all who has read this thread understand the issue, and the variety of reasons is likely matched by concerns of an administration but what perhaps you should notice is a whine for ever reason is still just a whine and those that deliver it are still just whiners and forever lacking the respect of others. |
i am sorry if it appears i am asking for "a special status". I don't think i am. What i am asking for is a justification, reasons behind the testing. Then, voicing my opinion isn't whining, is it? The concerns of an administration may likely match my concerns of the local hospitals/clinics management techinques. In any case, what are the concerns of an administration? And, how do the local authorities show respect for others? |

good luck, but i don't think the chinese government feels the need
to justify their decisions, especially to guest workers. |

Don't tell me you can't see any obvious reasons for a blood test. They don't want people with communicable and highly contagious diseases coming into a densely-populated country and starting an epidemic. What did you think was the reason?

Control, local institutions revenue from testing, harassement may be some of the reasons.

Don't they have enough of those here? Just imagine that after your professional health check in your homeland, prior to your not so pro health check you get to live and eat for a while here. Do you really think you'll start some sort of "an epidemic"? Perhaps, out of their clean toilets |

Yes, asking the emperor to explain himself isn't such a good idea, however, trying may shake his wall a bit. I have seen an advertisement of One World One Dream with a big Great Wall picture at the Beijing's airport. I don't think the emperor can afford so many "guest workers", that contribute to his house GDP, to be too dissatisfied with him. There are "guest workers" on both sites of the fence too. |
