Has anyone got any information about this outfit? Contract mentions 40 hours per week, seems a little excessive? Anyone got any thoughts?

Thanks

I've known people who defected to EF from AES schools and were happy they did. Not necessarily saying too much. Heard some complaints indirectly on here too...and none of this was in Shanghai. Based on similar environments, probably a lot of variation from school to school depending on the manager and the DoS.

The 40 hours is insane if it's all classroom. It's probably something like 30 classroom, 10 planning/interviewing/PR/etc. If so that's full but isn't too unheard of. By all means, read the contract carefully!!!

I inquired through e-mail last year and also got some insight from somebody who works for them. It was about 6000RMB a month with shared accommodation (they failed to mention it was "shared." I found that out by contacting an employee), working 6 days a week. The employee seemed to like working for them well enough, but to me it seemed like too many hours for the pay offered.

Terrible outfit - even their 'global academic operations manager' does not have a first degree! They hire people with no qualifications, experience or anything. Usually the AC hires friends from his or her home country and just play at being TEFL teachers. ACs get done for fraud and corruption all the time and most lie, cheat, and dodge.
