Twisted Evil These three companies have the SAME one sponser who is based out of Muscat. They are under the dodgy dictatorship oft defended by ELS Bear who is a member of the management at ELS Muscat. He does not hide this fact on the board, he constantly states he has worked for them for over 7 years. Well, do the math, no one else has been there that long. LoL.

And I know his speeches, had to hear the B.S. enough in person when ever a serious issue was 'raised'. This person does not have TEACHERS best interests at heart. It's rather disappointing.

(*note that ELS Bear is often in Nizwa doing 'something' at the University~possibly in terms of recruitment~ but it's kept pretty quiet) It is not unusual for more than one recruiter to staff several colleges/ universities.

This 'sponser' ShiekRattleAndRollYouForYourPocketBook - based in Muscat under ELS is a "bad news bear".

Cheating teachers out of holiday pay, holidays, forcing them to work unimaginable hours, and constant berating, instead of praising.

Three companies to be avoided by all teachers. Twisted Evil

Having worked for these people and seeing many teachers break down in tears, in Labor Court trying to get unpaid monies owed, and the usual 'runners' who just decide to get out while they can. It is disgusting to see one of the management using a TEACHERS board to 'defend' these abuses.

I won't discuss how they treat their 'hired help'. They had one Indian guy sleeping in a classroom at night, and washing in a public toilet as they didn't provide him with a shower or toilet, or cooking facilities.

I can honestly say disregard any comments made by ELS Bear on this board.

How do they get away with these ongoing abuses? WASTA. Wasta is the term used for high powered influence. Most of their ELS contracts are secured with teaching the police, government officials, and some Ministry of Defense employees. Teachers don't often win cases against these companies due to WASTA. (abuse of power).

Stear clear away from Al Sharqiyah University, Al Buraimi College and ELS in Oman. Until the government decides to regulate such abuses of power these 'learning' institutions should be boycotted by expat teachers.

Twisted Evil

wow, I said my piece in another thread before I saw this one. Quite a story to tell. Apparantly, I am the busiest expat in the country, working for no less than 4 different employers and colleges!

So, suitthatdidnt, I need your help in raising my salary / benefit package as I am clearly being underpaid ! Can forward proof of your conspiracy / employment / abuse and wasta theory to aid in my negotiations ?

Thanks so much,

eslbear
