Hello
I'm just starting with my ESL teaching experience and I'm really in the need of some help. I'll start just with the following question...Do you think it'll be an advantage or disadvantage to be a Mexican national and try to get a job teaching English in Mexico?
Now I do not have TESOL or TESL certificate. And my friends say I have a very slight to no accent at all. However, I do have the advantage of holding a degree in Sociology & Translation and Interpretation from a public university in the United States and while at that school I also studied Spanish for my minor.
I was looking at some options (work related) at Hermosillo but I hear that its not a very profitable city to teach at.
Does anyone have any advice as to where I could start? My goal is to teach English at a University level here in Mexico. Should I give companies like Harmon Hall a try?
Any advice will be much appreciated.
Thank you! |
