Hi one and all,

As I said last time I have been away from the great Bull for some 3 years.

Now hope to return is it a good time what are the present average rates at places like TED,ISTEK,Bilgi, Use to be that most schools paid around $2000 to $3000 USA a month plus rent and the rest, is the market still the same or have things changed.

In short is it a good time to return....

Well, although I actually just finally left Turkey a few months ago, I can say that your salary estimates are still fairly accurate, though with the current exchange rate (*cough*), quoting salaries in USD is rather depressing. I'd say 3500-4500 TL is the norm for private schools, with a few higher and a few lower. That would be including housing allowance.

So 3500-4500 is normal for high schools in Istanbul, perhaps those people who want to save money should take note and stop working for peanuts at dershanes!

But does that wage depend on qualifications and experience?
How much does an entry level job pay for a newbie here with a degree, CELTA and and experience, for example?

Yes is the short answer, age and experience do count towards your monthly salary, however, remember the best teachers are usually just the cheapest!
