Where in the heck are you talking about? This is a very international forum, and the answers to your questions will vary wildly depending on location.... |

I assume for someone with 2 years experience and a TEFL the best I'd be looking at is a cram school. If so what are the work hours like for cram schools, generally of course?
Any chance of working 9-5, M-F?
If anyone can help, thanks. |
Depends on:
where you are from,
what country you are looking at going to,
whether or not you have a degree to go with your TEFL and experience
(usually no degree = no k-12 school)
As a general rule (in Asia as an example):
i ) cram schools that have a kindergarten will have morning classes for the little ones and afternoon classes for elementary kids. (9-6).
ii) cram schools that focus on elementary/middle school will run classes after school and in the evenings (3-10) and/or weekends (S/S 8-6).
iii) cram schools that focus on adults and university students usually have split shifts when they are not in class/at work (6-8am/5-10pm).

Sorry I meant to post this on the Taiwan forum.
I do have a B.S. degree not related to ESL, two years experience teaching at an elementary school in Korea. My TEFL is a 100hr online course.
So from what you posted it seems one could obtain a position at a cram school with a kindergarten and get a M-F, 9-6 rotation?
Kindergarten's are "illegal" in Taiwan but commonplace?
Thanks. |
Cam you find one = yes.
Are they illegal = yes.
Can you get a job in one = yes.
Will get you get a (proper) visa = no.
Are you at risk = yes.
