I have a question about a word .
I know the standard word in Spanish for dog is "perro".
but is there another word something like "ajo" ?
I always thought "ajo" meant garlic.
I'm not sure of the spelling, just wondering if anyone's heard something similar.
Thanks in advance. |

Maybe you heard carajo, which is a mild expletive, so maybe someone was addressing a dog. Also, there are endings added to words that change the size, for example, a small dog is a perrito, a big dog might be a perrote. I cant think of anything else. Well, sometimes perros are called chuchos, that sounds a little like ajo...... |

There is a slang word (not common) "coco", which refers to a female dog in human form, if you get my meaning!
Also, "Guato" (Costa Rica) and "Choco" (Argentina) are slang for dog, and sound similar to "ajo". |
