The title speaks for itself, no? |

Since this is a global forum and not a Korean one...
in what country / continent would you be looking and what do you have to offer other than an unrelated BA?
If you want to stay in East Asia, JET and SOME jobs in China and you can get them with just a BA.
IF you are a licensed teacher then add government schools in Taiwan and the NET program in HK as well as most decent international schools planet wide (especially if you are a math or science teacher).

I currently have a BA in Communications and a CELTA. I'd be interested in teaching in SE or Central Asia, but since I'm more concerned about price than location, I'm trying to learn about my options in any geographical location. |

Outside of the Middle East (where you would need more qualifications than you have to land a job that would reimburse flights and housing, I believe), it's pretty much only Asia that offers what you're looking for. Definitely not Europe, and I doubt Latin America either! |

You're worried about "price"? Kind of strange grammar there.
Also, if you can't even afford airfare, I'd suggest that you stay home until you build up a bit of a nest egg. Coming to a foreign country broke will not be a pleasant experience. |

With your qualifications:
No place outside of Korea will prepay the airfare for you.
Public schools in Korea do not prepay but will reimburse or offer an inbound allowance after you arrive.
Most decent jobs in China will have an airfare allowance at the completion of the contract (usually about $1000).
No place offers prepaid or reimbursement on arrival.
China and Korea have the lowest start-up costs since they usually include housing as part of the contract package.
Beyond that, you will, on average, need somewhere between $3000-5000 for air, setup and living expenses till you get paid (and that includes the places with cheap living, like Thailand).
If you are short of cash, go to Korea, build a nest egg then move to the country you want to work in.
The other option is to improve your qualifications to move to a better than entry level job with better than entry level remuneration packages.

tttompatz, that is close to what I needed to know. For the individual who mentioned it, I use the word "price" to reflect the start-up costs involved with working in this career. I'm sure the complaint is universal, but I'm miffed that the field I'm trained in requires a large amount of money just to start working in it. If Korea is the only place that can cover airfare and housing, it's really the only place I can afford to work.
I left home after graduating, so I've been living on WWOOF communes ever since. As such, I don't have a very stable address for employment nor do I have the start-up funds to rent an apartment. Korea seems to be the only place where I can rebuild my nest egg, so to speak, while getting valuable experience at the same time.
With that said, I'd still like to know which organizations, besides EPIK, reimburses airfare/housing in Korea, so that I can keep my options as open as possible. |

Can't discuss Korea here in the international forums and if you can't afford airfare the you can't afford EPIK (reimbursement not prepaid). Hagwans are your only choice. Go to the Korean forums.

Thanks for the info tttompatz. I can get airfare and initial costs covered by kind and loving family, but reimbursement (within the first month, rather than after the contract's up) would be a must. I understand that this falls under the Korean flag now, so I'll move along. |
