Okay. So I've received an offer from SBC to teach at PNU, but the contract does not outline my weekly hours. My offer of employment letter states 20 hours of teaching and 10 admin. Any thoughts?

Since the employment contract is the document you'd be signing as legally binding, the terms of the contract supersede the job offer letter. What exactly does the contract state in regard to the weekly hours?

On page 6 it states, 'The working contractual hours ar a maximum of (4Cool hours in 6 days per week. Normally, however, a work week consist of 40 hours, 5 days per week, constituted as follows: a maximum of 30 contact hours, plus up to 10 additional administrative hours.'

I'm not sure if in Saudi admin duties include study period or hall duty?

Hi,

I just looked at the contract they sent me. It is in the first clause.

Teaching hours no more than 20 hours a week.

If it is not there I would ask for a new contract. Tell them there is nothing in there about the teaching hours.

As I recall, your contract is through Education Experts, which means your work week could run 6 days a week/48 total hours teaching at PNU or wherever they may send you. The amount of actual teaching/contact hours vs admin hours would be anyone's guess.

Admin duties usually include lesson planning, grading students' assignments, etc. Monitoriing a study period and performing hall duty are middle and high school duties---not typical for university.

I've received contracts from both SBC and EduEx.

The former specifies right at the top in clause #1: max. 20 teaching hours; 40 total working hours from Sat-Wed.

The latter indicates somewhere in the middle that a typical work week is 40 hours, 5 days/week. But! your employer is allowed to ask you to work 48 hours over 6 days without overtime pay!

If you've also received both contracts, I'd definitely go with SBC. If not, you can still apply via Adwaa Rabia.
