hello,
I've been doing a bit of research regarding S.Korea and am unimpressed, originally I was keen on South America but couldnt find an agency that recruited for there (I cant consider volunteering) so am going to consider S.America again.
I'm planning on doing a course (mix of online and teaching practise) with a company I've been recommneded on here
http://intesolinternational.com/london-uk.shtml
What are my chances of getting work in S.America?
I have a (unrelated) degree and some experience of children. I am hoping to gain some adult experience soon.
Thanks

1. Work hard in your home country and save at least $6,000 USD.
2. Research where in Latin America you want to go. The various threads on Latin American countries are a good place to start.
3. Find a CELTA course in the country in which you want to work. Fly to said country and take course.
4. Network while on course and find entry level job upon completion of CELTA.
5. Work your way up the ladder. In 1-4 years, you should have found a decent job that allows you to live reasonably well and save.
You won't find recruiters for this region of the world and you'll have to pay for your own travel expenses. There's a reason why Asia has far outpaced Latin America in economic growth over the last 50 years - they put a far higher value on education (Falling Behind, edited by Francis Fukayama has some great essays on this topic). |
