So as I mentioned in another post, I sent some antidepressants in a package, and now the cargo company is holding the whole package hostage until I pay a paperwork release fee (150 TL), the customs fee (the value of the package is about $40, but maybe with shipping...?), and their warehouse fee. So I'm inclined to tell that company to take their fees and shove them. Antidepressants take 6 weeks to take effect anyways, so a few more until I find a psychiatrist won't hurt.

But there's two things in that package I really need:
1. a MicroUSB-USB cable.
2. A USB-Europlug adapter.

I can order both of these things online for five bucks plus $30 shipping, or with no shipping if I'm willing to wait several weeks. If I could find them here, without the shipping costs, that would be better.

If I do have to ship them, the other question is: will the company on this side hold them up again, or do they only charge the paperwork release and warehouse fees if your package gets held up at customs?

Thanks,
~Q

I haven't been in Istanbul for a while, but I think for electronics etc you should try Astoria Shopping Mall in Etiler. I remember there were two places : Yalcinlar (www.yalcinlar.com.tr and Electroworld (www.electroworld.com.tr)

There were also places in Profilo Shopping Mall (Darty ??) and Meydan Shopping Mal (Media Markt??) l, but I cannot remember the names exactly.

Yes, thank you!
Electroworld in Astoria had it--I got both for 16 lira.
