Hi,

I am a Newb as far as china is concerned.

What documents must be submitted to the Chinese embassy to get my Z Vias?

What do they need from me?

What do they need from my employer?

Thank You in advance,

An invitation letter from a school which wants to hire you is good.

That's all? Seems very simple compared with other countries. They don't require a certificate of business from the employer?

There is a Z visa sticky, everythign you want to know is in there somewhere...

I needed to send to the embassy:

From here in NZ

1-Form V.2011A Application for Visa to enter the PRC. including photograph
2-Form V.2011B Supplementary application for endorsement (working/student/business).
3-Medical check from registered medical practitioner. including photograph

All three downloaded off the embassy website and filled in with various calls to the embassy helpdesk to work out what the questions MEAN.

4 forms from China:

4-Working Permit, Also known as the Alien Employment Licence (AEL) in some translations, from the SAFEA.
5-Confirmation of Invitation, from the SAFEA, that the uni is ALLOWED to invite me.
6-Name List, from the SAFEA, lists everyone covered by the confirmation of invitation in the case of teams or groups, but is still needed if only one is invited.
7-Invitation letter, from the employer inviting you to come work for them

2 things of mine:

8-Passport
9-Big Cheque to cover processing fees and Shipping & Handling of my passport to return it.

And lastly

10-Prepaid, addressed, signature required/registered mail Courier bag to return my passport in.

The courier bag was pretty full when it went off...

Depending on where you are you may also need a Police Background Check, in my case the embassy does not require them here.
