|
|
Hi everyone! This is my first post, so please bear with me...
I'm currently working on the JET application due on Dec. 2nd. I've been trying to gather as much information as I can on the radiation situation in Japan. I know it's hard to know anything definitively, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to the safest possible areas to shoot for. I'm especially interested in rural areas, and would rather not end up in a big city, but really at the moment safety is my biggest concern. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks!

As long as you are not around the Fukushima area, you will be completely safe.
So, you want a rural area, and that will be great in JET's eyes. I suggest choosing an area with a climate you like. |

I honestly don't get this sort of question. It's like saying Missouri is unsafe because of an accident in Delaware. If you're paranoid about radiation then simply choose somewhere (anywhere!) in the southern/western half of the country. With no particulate material being released the only danger is line of sight distances. If you're *really* paranoid then add a couple of kilometres on to that. |

Ignorance is bliss.
I would be chosing a place as far away as possible from Fukushima. |
