Especially with the E.U......There are far too many terms and conditions which each side has stipulated have to be agreed first before such a deal can be made.On reflection,is it such a good idea to allow Russians easy access to other countries,given the situation with crime and corruption there etc?We had such an arrangement here in Cyprus for some years until we joined the E.U. in 2004 and are still feeling side-effects from it's mis-use!
No doubt Lavrov and his FSB cronies are very eager for this to go through so they can make even more frequent and easier visits to their homes and assets abroad which have been acquired with money made illegally and at the expense of the majority of the Russian population....

I don't agree with you. The nub seems to be that one can have multiple entry and visas which last for three years. From my point of view as a Brit I would be very pleased to have such a situation, and I would also point to the current difficulties created for ordinary very decent Russians who want to travel, study and, where appropriate, work. Abuse is a matter for the police, as with any crimes. Forbidding everybody from a country or other category of people from being able to travel without overmuch hassle is reactionary (in my admittedly liberal opinion).
