So I got canned today and need to leave the country by the 30th. My company said they will pay me on the 7th of next month through direct deposit.. I told them I want to get paid before I leave the country. What are my rights?

Contact a lawyer. As far as I know, once contracts have been terminated, all outstanding payments have to be made immediately. Do not sign anything they ask you to!!!

Don't forget your holiday-pay entitlements. (You do have them, regardless of what your employer may say....)

It's too late. I already signed the paperwork today with all the supposed violations.. They did it a week before my probation period was up(3 month probation) and now I have to leave on the 30th cause that is when my visa expires.. Are you saying that I am entitled to my 28 days vacation pay anyway?

This started because I refused to substitute a lesson for co-workers who went on vacation. I substituted for one which brought up my hours to 11 academic hours in one day and when I was asked to substitute again a day later, I declined because it was too exhausting for me to work so many hours.

Also, They said I work the rest of the week, they will pay me for the 28 and 29 of november. Since, I am already fired, shouldn't i be paid anyway. Should I not come into work tomorrow and Friday?
And can a lawyer really help me if I have 7 days left in the country>

Sorry to hear about all that.

Anyway, you need a lawyer to tell you the exact facts, but as far as I know this is almost unfair dismissal. Hard to prove etc., but the fact you are working on a 3-month visa probably also means you are working illegally to begin with. What type of visa is it, if I can ask? The mere mention of you going to the authorities should scare them into settling up upfront. It's simply not worth it for them. Tax issues also scare employers, but it depends on the employer. (Keep your passport away from them at all times now!) I doubt very much that you'll see the money after you leave Russia. Legally it should all be settled and paid on your last day of work.

As for holiday pay, I'm not sure about such a short work period. What was the contract term for? Usually holiday pay is pro rate: i.e. you'd only get a quarter of the 28 days.

Can't really say what the best thing to do is - all happening so quick. Do any of your students or friends know any lawyers?

Sorry again. I'd go in and ask to speak to the boss at least

I looked up some lawyers myself and plan to call them tomorrow. The Visa that I have is a 3 month teacher's visa. It says teacher at "my school". My contract is for 9 months. I'm not upset that I got fired because working at this school was stressing me out. I just want to get what's legally mine.
