I realize this is early to talk about the summer but I have to ask. I might get into teaching (jr high/high school level). I kinda doubt there would be much of summer schools domestically in the USA to keep me occupied. Most contracts I see for China seem to be a year but are there places have have three month contracts for the summer? If so has anyone here experienced them? Thanks. |

You should be starting to see these in March although my summer work has been by word of mouth.
The summer work ads are overtaken from say April by ads for new semester starts say 1 September.
If you are coming to China for the first time for a summer gig with the possibility of continuing in a permanent (1 year) role it may pay to think of both together ie locality, organisation.
The possibility of continuing on into September and beyond may make you more attractive to an employer.
Once in China and working regular semesters I found loafing around for 6-8 weeks not unattractive.
Then, I come from the Southern Hemisphere so no point going home to July/August winter. I save the trip home until the Chinese New Year break. It's plenty long enough. |
