I have been on the road since my last post living out of hotels. I am now in Chiang Mai and my supervisor is telling me not to go home yet. He said the area looks like a war zone and none of the local stores are open. They changed the start date once again for most of the area schools to the 13th of December. I am also told that the water rose another 3 feet after I left and became black and smelly.

Flying into Bangkok these days is a very sobering experience. You see lots and lots of land still flooded and a very much still suffering the effects of the flooding. Some places are passable in terms of transportation. Others are not and major highways are still not operating normally with lanes closed and such. Store shelves are not full and people are still coping from continuing flooding that will take some time before it disappears completely in many areas.
