I have an audio/visual class and I am told that the final exam should consist of 3 parts (all about 40 minutes each).

I was given a sample (a text file) from another university and it is a lot of different conversation listening sections. Things like:

"In this section, you will hear 8 short conversations. At the end of each conversation, one question will be asked about what was said..."

Where can I find a complete test like this? With audio files and the accompanying questions? From what I am hearing, this is a pretty common test (with the three different sections).

Almost any TOEFL prep book (such as Barron's) will have listening CDs that contain conversational English. The forms for the test are in the book.

Audio visual? Why not just take a scene from a movie and play that then ask questions based on what was said. It doesn't have to be super difficult and it's usually more interesting than:
"Hi Jane, where are you going?"
"Hi Ted, I'm going to the market, I want to buy a loaf of bread."
"That's great. Well, I hope you can find what you're looking for. See you later."
"Goodbye."

Why not make it yourself? There is little difficulty in doing so. In fact, as I'm sure you know, being a teacher and all, research shows that students perform better on exams, not to mention it is more fair to them, when such an exam contains the same, or similar voice/speaker that they experienced during the teaching portion of the term. In other words, you should record your own voice, etc. so they hear the same accent, pronunciation, etc. that they received during your term-long lessons. It's fairer and a more accurate representation of their learning performance. I'm sure, of course, you already know this.

CET-4, CET-6 and BEC exams have loads of stuff like this. You can find sample BEC questions and audio online (google it) and you can buy CET-4/6 practice materials, complete with scripts and mp3s, in the Xinhua bookstores. Get one of your students to help you find them. (Spark brand is what I used.)
