Hi was wondering, is 850 rubles after tax for a 45-minute session good wages in Moscow?

When you consider the cost of living there.I was making from$20-$30 per academic hour back in 2006 and prices have increased considerably since then.Established teachers with long-term private lessons who are in demand can get around $50 per hour and that's for students who come to them!

I was working in Moscow until recently and would say that the price charged for private lessons by me and amoung my immediate colleagues was in the region of 2000 - 3000 rubles per 1.5 hour class. This is not from institutions which also provide visa support or housing which will, for obvious reasons, pay less.

Actually I think 850 for 45 minutes is reasonable but it depends how it fits into your schedule and if there's much travelling. I'd certainly take it if I didn't have anything else on and then give notice later if my timetable became full of better paying work

If you're talking about a school, then 850/45mins is about average. Private lessons pay more, though, generally in the range of 2500-3500/90mins.
