Hey everyone,
I'm in the process of obtaining a bachelors degree. Most of my classes are online, so I considered teaching English in Colombia until my degree was complete.
I have a TEFL cert (probably worthless) and a Florida, US substitute teaching cert. I was under the conception that a bachelors degree was required to teach in Colombia. However, after speaking to Brian at TEFLINSTITUTE.COM, I've become confused on this matter.
Here is the email from Brian:

Hi Rich,
This would definitely be possible to teach with just a TEFL certificate. In Colombia (as in most Latin American countries) a Bachelors degree is not required. All you need is a TEFL Certification.
How did you become interested in teaching in Colombia? When would you like to be down there?
Take care,

So...can someone please enlighten me? Is this a half truth or a blatant lie? |
