I read in another thread that you had your interview on October 19th, which is a Wednesday; the last of the work week in Oman. And as mentioned, there have been a number of vacation days in the last month or so. Also, one of the work weeks was only two days long.

Once a college selects a candidate, the Dean of the college needs to approve the candidate, then the Ministry of Manpower, then your visa-- these steps move fairly quickly, but with the vacations, and such, it will sometimes take longer.

Additionally, the Foundation Programs in the Colleges of Technologies will start final exams in two weeks, and then there is semester break. So, really no one is in a big rush to get new teachers to join immediately.
