North Korean leader Kim Jong-il dead at 69
Actually more like part of a nightmare has ended. Who will take over the reins from the "Dear Leader" now? Who gets the Daffy Duck cartoon collection? |

Dear Leader presented his third and illegitimate son Kim Jong Un as leader some months ago. He's been made a 4 star general at age 27 and apparently is big into Pokemon. |

I might consider diverting my holiday plans to take in the funeral procession in Pyongyang. |

This certainly has been a year of major bad karma for some of the world's more infamous leaders. It will be interesting to see if Jong Il's son and successor, Kim Jong Un, continues his dad's legacy with the same-old-same-old. Or hey, maybe he'll break out into a freedom dance. |

About time.
Let's hope the transition is stable. |

Yes, I wouldn't call this a 'legend' passing. 'Tyrant' perhaps. |

The big concern is fears of regional instability which could have serious economic repercussions.
Financial markets fear the unpredictability of a leadership transition in impoverished, secretive North Korea.
The South Korean Kopsi has already dipped as his death spooked the region. |

Yea because the North Korean economy is so vital to the rest of the world's. I mean, what would we do without it? We rely on their <insert threat> for survival! |

Some good films and documentaries on NK can be downloaded on btjunkie:
BBC Crossing the Line - Joe Dresnok
Kimjongilia
Children of the Secret State - North Korea
The first two are very good, haven't seen the third one yet but reviews say it's another good piece of work. |

First, Gadhafi.
Now, Kim Jong-Il.
Is Chavez next?
