A friend of mine will be leaving Mexico soon, and I've told her about a place that she really should go before she leaves. But I wanted to add and X place and X place and X place etc. etc. So I thought it would be interesting for all of us living in Mexico and for those planning on coming to Mexico and anyone else who might be pining for Mexico to hear everybody else's Must Visit places
In addition to the place I told my friend about which is still undiscovered so I'm going to keep it that way, I'd have to say
Las Lagunas de Chacahua, Oaxaca
La Sierra Mixe, Oaxaca, in the rainy season
Taxco, Guerrero, for the Saturday market
Tepoztlan, Morelos
Atlixco, Puebla, for Huey Atlixcyotl
Las Lagunas de Monte Bello, Chiapas
Teotihuacan
I could go on and on, but I'll limit myself to a lucky seven. |

Aw, thanks Melee...
The place that's tearing my heart out about leaving is the Copper Canyon in Chihuahua. I've been to Creel three times now, and it is the most awe-inspiringly beautiful place I have seen on this entire planet. Hell, maybe I'll stay, and go live there!
A distant 2nd is Palenque, Chiapas.
3rd Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo (just to hang and be a beach bum).
4th Xico, Veracruz.
5th Templo Mayor, DF.
Ah, Mexico, so beautiful.. What's that song they have on the buses sometimes about Mexico being on your skin?? |

The DUST of Mexico. Actually, I believe the person who first said that once you got the dust of Mexico on your skin it was impossible not to keep that connection was the historian Anita Brenner, in the 30s. |

The archaelogical site Xochicalco, about 40 minutes south of Cuernavaca, would be my number 1 pick. |

Thought I'd just mention Chiflon, bloody great waterfall hardly anyone but locals frequent, near Comitan in Chapias.
Not quite as blue as Agua Azul but I prefer it as it has less people, mid week you get it to yourself. |
