Hi,
I'm looking for a teaching position for between 6 - 9 months somewhere in Asia starting, ideally, next month. Where is my best bet? I have two BAs (unrelated), a Master's (unrelated), two years experience, and a 120 hour online TEFL. I'm willing to do a CELTA or in-house TEFL/TESOL certificate if that'll improve my chances of finding something. |

Short time = language academy.
Pick a country. You qualify for all of them as far as being an ESL teacher goes.
In Thailand, land and hit the ground running. Because of the floods earlier this year the school year was delayed and since schools are running a 6-day week there are lots of short term jobs in the language academies just begging for someone. Pop into the nearest thai embassy and get yourself a 60-day double entry visa and you are good for 6 months.
You can get short time work in China but the visa processing may take a while.

You probably won't get one in Japan. Immigration shuts down for a week or more over New Year's, so that put a hitch in any visa processing, plus there just aren't that many short-term jobs here. December's a horrible time for job hunting in Japan.
Westgate Corporation is about the only place I know in Japan that does short-term contracts, but you'll have to meet their qualifications and deal with whatever schedule they have. |
