Two questions, people... if anyone knows...
After getting all my documents notarized by lawyer, I sent them all to Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade to have them endorsed.
The package includes a same day Fed-Ex envelope to rush it back to me.... however, it may get back to me just days after I am due to leave in mid-Jan.
1. Is it safe to leave without them and have a parent FedEx them soon after I arrive? I also have other copies (including originals) that I can bring... then are notarized, but not endorsed.
2. Assuming I arrive in Oman with the correct documents... is there EVER a need to give the MoM or Ministry of Higher Education my original degree? Or the super-stamped copy will do? Also, will these departments actually need to take my passport -for any amount of time- to get approval for the Labor Visa? Can't say I want to give these up. |

You will have to give up the passport for a few days or maybe more... so it can go to the Ministry for stamps to go with your labor card. No big deal...
I suspect that the process depends on your employer. In my case, both employers just looked at my originals - in my presence - compared them to the certified copies... and that was that. I would never allow the originals to leave my presence.
