Basil the rat's post got me to thinking. How many people have posted online resumes?. Did you get a decent job out of it or not? How long did it take to get something? Where did you post?

I am still getting offers in reply to an add I posted back in November 2003.... I set up a special e-mail just for those and forgot to check it for a few months after I secured my position..... I am glad I did. When I got around to login in, there were over 300 messages from recruiters and schools in China and Korea. Shocked Shocked

I've tried posting my resume online at two or three sites, but I only seem to get responses from China and Korea. Neutral

I thought about it, but I had heard a few stories about people getting flooded with offers (and I just read such a story a few posts ago, too), and decided that I didn't want the hassle.

Instead, I completed an online CV/resume at tefl.com. It's not available for employers to read, but it's really easy to send out. I believe that when I was job-searching last year there was only one school out of a few dozen that didn't respond.

That's why I've never done it. I don't want just anyone to see my resume, it is personal.

Denise,
When you register with tefl.com, how does it work for employers to get access to your resume? Do you give them a password? Just curious.

When you see a posting you're interested in, you fire off an electronic copy of your resume and cover letter.
No one can see your resume unless you grant permissions to do so, or you send them a copy deliberately.

You can make your CV inaccessable to employers if you want when you register. This means that all employers registered with TEFL.com can view your CV. Also when you apply for a position with TEFL.com, they send your cv to that employer
