transferring an iqama is something the 'old' university and the 'new' one have to agree upon and has to be approved by the mfo. as there is quite a bit of money involved in bringing in a teacher, and if s/he leaves after a few months, the employer would want to see some of that money back, from the next employer. fair enough, i'd say. there is also a fee to be paid to the mfo. who will pick up the tab for that?
having said that, however, i have been told by a reliable source that the government has stopped giving out transfer approvals, for the time being. too much paperwork, so they say. true or not? your guess is as good as mine. your friend needs to contact his/her employer's hr dept. that's the only way to find out. |
