Actually they never were a New England team. NYC is their home.

I've always thought that "yankee" meant "someone who's yanked"

as in "Hey don't pull my hair! I'm not your yankee"

At any rate, it's better to be a yanker than a yankee.

Newt Gingrich Floats Sarah Palin for Potential VP Slot, Cabinet Secretary

http://news.yahoo.com/newt-gingrich-floats-sarah-palin-potential-vp-slot-042904584.html

GOP presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich is sinking in the polls but nevertheless said he would consider former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as a potential vice presidential running mate.....

He didnt stop there Gingrich also suggested the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate could be a good pick for some very important cabinet positions.....

Yes, that's exactly what old philandering lizard needs; an endorsement from Sarah Palin Confused If that doesn't get his poll numbers back up, what would?? Laughing

As far as polls go, my prediction is that Romney will have to be up by 4 points if he wants to win the Iowa primary. Paul has the more committed followers and some of Romney`s won`t show up.

Bill's name doesn't lend itself to ridicule in quite the same way as Newt's.

"Would you insult Bill Clinton in the same manner?"

I would - in their private lives, they've both let a certain part of their anatomy overrule their brains.

But I'd say one big difference is that Bill is/was a consummate politician whereas Newt is not. He'll lose big in Iowa, and, if he's foolish enough to continue, he'll lose by even more in New Hampshire.

For better or for worse (and I'd say it'll be for worse for Republicans) Romney's going to be the Republican candidate.

Regards,
John

Since there`s been so much volatility, some of these guys are reluctant to pull out thinking that their time will come up again and their poll numbers resurge. It`s delusional thinking with Backman and Gingrich at this point, however Perry could end up a kingmaker and get the VP slot for his delegates.

Like Guy said, he thinks it will be a Romney/Perry ticket. The oil money will flow into the GOP presidential coffers and he`s got the looks to attract voters. He`ll carry the south and Tea Party for Romney, just like Palin brought the hard right back into McCain`s fold.

I think it would be better if Obama had Hillary and Biden switch roles and that would invigorate the Democrats. But it ain`t going to happen. If he should lose, that will be the play he will regret the most not making.

For a while I thought Bachmann had the chance for the VP slot. Romney needs a fundamental Christian, tea partier and a purple state to have a chance at this. Wisconsin might have gone for Romney had she been on the ticket, but now we will never know. She was the balloon that got pricked.

If Romney wanted a real shot at it, he would go with Bloomberg to demonstrate he is above national political partisanship, but that ain`t going to happen either. He`s too cautious a politician.

Perry's a male Bachmann so far as I can see. I sincerely hope he's nowhere on the final ticket, on the off-chance that the Republicans actually win.
