I think you can have issues wherever you are. I have a good job where I am and make really good money, but I've also worked for it. I do extra classes as well to make more money. It's nice, but it's leading to job burn out.

NG, have you considered becoming a teacher trainer? It would certainly enhance your resume/CV and open up more opportunities for you outside of SK.

Excellent point nomad soul!! I'm curious as to what the qualifications and experience a person would need to become a teacher trainer. Does anyone know?

Mexico for example. Since I may be getting my CELTA there later this year and I have taught ESL and EFL for close to seven glorious years, and I have my bachelor and soon my masters in education with a specialization in English Language Learners (ELL), would I qualify? Great idea!!!! Cool

Yep, actually I have. With SIT. THe problem is that they send you away. Or rather, you pick how often you want to go away from home. I can't do that at the moment.

Do you happen to know of any other programmes?

Where you are? Talk to someone in the Policy Division of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education in Jowon-dong. They are looking for teacher trainers (full time position - similar to what you would have now in terms of teaching load and remuneration package).

I'm in Kuwait right now...earning less than Libya but with free housing, transport and above 50k ...it's still just about ok.
