I believe you'll have to contact the nearest Saudi embassy to get the forms. You'll also, of course, have to have all the shot records and a cat cage for the plane.
Just found this:
"Cats and dogs entering Saudi Arabia require a Veterinary Health Certificate and a dated letter from the veterinary private practitioner addressed to the Director of Customs, Saudi Arabia. Both documents must be authenticated by the Department of Agriculture Veterinary Service Office and the State Department's Authentications Office and attested by the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia. The certificate must indicate that the animal was examined and is free from disease, and confirm that rabies and other vaccines are current. Information on the name, breed, sex, color, and age of the animal must also be stated."

John
P.S. Remind me to tell you sometime the saga of how I got a dog (a Shih Tzu) into Saudi in 1980 and got her back out again (in the cabin with me) in 1984.)
P.P.S. You do realize that there are literally thousands of feral cats roaming around Riyadh, don't you.
P.P.P.S This may be very helpful:

I wouldn't take my cat to Saudi Arabia. Jobs for them are difficult to get and most of them wind up just sitting around wistfully looking out the window all day long...
It's a truly depressing sight to see! |

The cat actually is a feral garbage kitty from Oman, that was snuck in a shoe box to UAE and flown to the USA...and now I have a new job in SA...so she needs to be back in her homeland.
However...actually talking to a helpful saudi is becoming a challenge. |

Our catis here in Saudi. It was no big deal. Saudi Air allows them to in the cabin if they are under 5kg. I think I paid like 20 bucks for her to ride in the cabin on Saudi Air vs 150 on Luftansa.
We needed a vet cert. and all her shots had to be up to date. Oh, and a chip. If they go under the plane then you need an import cert from Saudi as well. There are only a few places in Saudi that help with the paperwork and from what I hear its expensive.
See if you can take her on the flight with you and there wil be less problems... |

Contact one of the vets in Riyadh, Jeddah, or Dahran.
One of them will coordinate with your American vet. You will need a certificate from a federal agency that certifies animal health as well as a document from Washington D.C. |

If you are psychologically dependent on a feline I am not sure that KSA will be good for you. |

Dear scot47,
Care to list those types that you think KSA would be "good for?"

Good for psychotics and Islamophiles. I did 17 years there and it did me no harm. The warden here says that I am a model prisoner. |

Dear scot47,
"The warden here says that I am a model prisoner."
Congratulation on managing to fool him/her, too. But then seventeen years of practice must make one darn close to perfect .
Regards,
John
P.S. My, your spelling has improved. Is that yet another side-effect of departing the Magic Kingdom? |

The fundamental and most important document you need for importing any pet animal into Saudi Arabia is an Import Permit. Note that without this all-important document, your pet would never be allowed into the kingdom. You can get this form from the Agricultural Directorate in Riyadh (not to be confused with Ministry of Agriculture). Fill in the details (in Arabic) and submit the same. Once you get the Import Permit, the rest of the documentation has to be done in your home country.
Get a Veterinary Health Certificate from your home country. This certificate must be accompanied by a covering letter from your veterinarian listing out all the vaccinations given to your pet. There must also be a declaration in the letter that the pet is free from any kind of disease, most importantly rabies. This letter must be addressed to the Director of Customs, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Get these documents translated in Arabic and attested by the Saudi Embassy in your home country. Now you are all set to transport your pet into the kingdom.
I would advise you to take the services of a professional animal transporter. You must collect your pet from the Cargo Depot in Saudi Arabia. You would be required to fill in a form at the depot, so it would be helpful if you take a Saudi along with you as the form would be in Arabic.
You may also bring the pet along with you if you prefer, provided you have all the required documentation ready. Hope the information given here was helpful. |

Dear vashdown2,
I get the impression you think that Mushakil was IN Saudi when she posted the OP, but I don't believe Mushakil was when the question was asked.
"Mushakil Replies: 8 Views: 474 PostForum: Saudi Arabia Posted: Sat Jan 28, 2012 1:48 am Subject: Ed ex
I am heading out there within a month on an Ed Ex so... I will let you know."

Also, it's been a while since the OP was written.
