Yes, in 2005. I don't think my instructors are still there, but a CELTA is a CELTA. I liked the course, and it did get me both my jobs. If you have questions feel free to PM. |

I'd love to pm you but I'm not allowed until I've posted 25 times! Typical! So how did you find the course? Do you come from a teaching background? How did you find your jobs? Sorry to ask a hundred questions, I hope you don't mind. |

Well, I found the course to be intense, time consuming and nerve wracking, but valuable none the less. I got on with (agreed with) one instructor more than the other. There really is no spare time, you're either in class, preparing a lesson, teaching or writing a paper.
I didn't have previous teaching experience, my background is print journalism. Glad I didn't make a career of that!
I was referred to my first job by IH. And, they did warn me that it would be awful! To think, I used to like children.
For my second job I poked around and found a job that suited me, mainly by word of mouth, following my nose, etc.
I had to leave Mexico City in January due to family problems, and am back in the US preparing to start an MA in the fall.
Other areas I really liked were Chiapas and Oaxaca. |
