Hello all,
I was curious if there are any threads here that someone might refer me to regarding the London-based recruiter Parkhouse Bell and their work with the KSA Colleges of Excellence.
Or should there be no discussion as yet, I would appreciate any thoughts for someone considering taking an offer through them, or anything about the Colleges of Excellence themselves. Standard stuff, i.e. contracts, administrative culture, housing, etc.
Private message or general discussion is fine. |

They were previously, but from my recent experience with TQ it seems they [TQ] are using in-house staff for recruitment now. |

It might just be me, but whenever I see the word "Excellence" associated with the State of Saudi, my eyes start to hurt! |

Whenever I see any such words, excellence, exemplary...in the Gulf I just laugh out loud! |

Yes, there could be a link with TQ, or they're working independently. Any thoughts on TQ, should they be working together? Or perhaps the Colleges of Excellence themselves? I'll find out more tomorrow. Sure, the "excellence" could very well sting the eyes of Saudi ESL veterans and I'm sure there will be plenty of time for my eyes to sting later on!!! |

The PR department of the university I worked for in Cyprus came up with the slogan, "Quality is our Passion." We enjoyed that one.

Hi,
I'm looking to teach English in Saudi Arabia and wondering where I should apply. So far I've only applied through Palm Rose (http://www.palmrose.co.uk/teach-english-in-the-middle-east) but would like to know about other recruiters in KSA?
Thanks |

It's difficult to help you with so little information. What's your nationality? What qualifications do you have and in what subjects? How many years of experience in tefl so far and where? |

It reminds you of the odd language used by Nigerian scammers. |

OP Franta5 -
I worked at the TQ CoE in Buraydah between February and April. It was not exactly a professionally satisfying experience.
Here is a link to another thread about the TQ CoE in Mecca/Makkah. It's pretty much the same thing that happened in Buraydah, but we had fortunately only one dean and there was never a student strike:

I wrote a reply to a similar question detailing how I was treated rather unfairly by CoE (not TQ, exactly, but they could have been much more transparent):

TQ is operating all three currently open Colleges of Excellence in the KSA. Parkhouse Bell was recruiting for them as of last December. I don't know if they still are. OP's question suggests that they are indeed. |
