From my understanding, Asia is out for me due to my criminal history. I was caught with a stolen pistol and some other items when I was 17 and I got a paraphernalia charge when I was 20. I am 28 now.
Would South America still be a possibility? I just finished my BA and Spanish was my last class. I was hoping to perfect it by moving somewhere down there for a while. Maybe Peru or Mexico - since they seem to be among the least discriminating. |

Yes, it is. For example, to get a work visa for Colombia, there was no criminal bg check needed. |

You might want to ask this on the General Latin America board, or on the specific country boards for better response. The last I knew, Mexico did not require a CBC for a resident permit (and was still located in North America.) I don't believe Peru does either, but apparently there are other visa issues; this is third-hand info, not personal experience, however.
