Has anyone ever had experience changing jobs while in the kingdom. If so, I would like to hear your experience. As has been mentioned on this forum, one is usually bound to the sponsoring company once you arrive. I would be nice to hear how, why, or when you changed jobs. Thanks!

The company you work for has to release you from your Iqama before it expires. Most employers refuse to do that. If a company releases one indentured servant, every other indentured servant will be looking for a better job. Most employees have to return home for another employment visa.

Changing jobs in terms of being released from your Iqama so that you may return home to re-apply for a new visa with a new company (or waiting out the contract / iqama) is fairly common.

The less talked about version is where one resigns without notice (or little notice / or to the foreboding of the employer) and attempts to return home in order to change jobs tout de suite.

I believe such realities cannot be discussed openly here and must be reserved for PMs. Wink
