I just wanted to find out some information! I've been offered a contract with SBC recruitment , that was in July and then the (HR) goes silent?

Is that a sign to move on with another company or is that normal procedure for them?

I tried to contact them, but all I get was an email saying that ; please be assured that you will receive the visa paper work soon, and that was last month on the 8th.

Anyone in the same situation?

You can certainly put in applications with other employers.

I have a similar issue. I'm seeking advice about an ESL job I've applied for. It's in Saudi, with Adwaa recruiters. The position was suppose to start on the first week of September, but I'm still waiting. I've been told the delay is due the HAJJ Seasons Minisry. My biggest concern is that lately the recruiters have been slow to respond to emails, sometimes not responding at all. I wanted to find out from the other ESL teachers if this is common. Should I be concerned and start looking for other jobs or is it likely to all work out? Anyone been in a similar situation? What was the outcome?

Where are you in the process? Have you signed your contract with the actual employer? If so, how long ago was that? Regardless, that's who you should be contacting and not the recruiter.

As for me it's been like almost two and half month now since I signed the contract with SBC, but I tried to get in touch with them but still not responding at all.

The recruiting manager only responded to me last in August, and I was told that they are in process of a visa, and it was on 8th of August I got their email. I know they are slow but without a word from them ? I'm just concerned, any advice.

HR are punishing you for putting them in brackets. This implies that they are of lesser importance. People have been beheaded for less.

Thank you for your feedback nomad soul. Yes I've signed the contract, done my medical tests, secured my police clearance. All I needed were visa papers or employment papers stating that I am indeed hired. I need to take these along with my med results and clearance to the Saudi Embassy in South Africa. My contract says I've been employed by Al- Jazeera International Academy, but I haven't interacted with them, I've only been communicating with Adwaa representatives. They did finally respondto one of my emails, they said the delay is due to the holidays and promised to have feedback on Sunday. I'm still uneasy though.

It IS uneasy but yeah. Things on the government's end are deadlocked during holidays and there was a sudden extension so you just have to wait. If it makes you feel any better once the SACM approved my docs the embassy got things done rapid-quick.

I heard that there were "issues" in recruiting teachers from South Africa, This may have been merely a rumour. The story was that Pretoria had asked Riyadh to put an end to recruiting teachers from South Africa for KSA.

Just a rumour ?

By the way, that employer hasn't had good reviews:

Dear SongAg,

SBC is not a recruiter. As far as I am aware, they will be the sponsor named on your iqama (khafeel) and will therefore be your employer. It may be the case that they have a contract to provide teachers to a university or other institution.

Regards,

Abbas

Hi Muhammed,

Thanks for information! I wasn't aware that SBC is not a recruiter. But I am just excited about the opportunity to teach in Saudi Arabia.

My main concern is that the recruiting manager isn't responding to my emails, I think it's important for me to check or ask about the status of my visa processing, and I would really appreciate any word on the matter .

Regards,
songAg

Everyone is on vacation here and return to work on Sunday. So you should start chasing them from next week, if they don't get back to you,
