Well, there's the Al jazeera TV channel, based in Doha, which is excellent.
There's Al Jazeera Paints whose reputation I know nowt about.
And last but not least, there's the Al Jazeera Hotel in Bahrain, whose reputation I can most certainly comment upon. (No, I didn't say "vouch for", I said "comment upon" ) |

There is also Al-Jazeerajobs.com which maintains the biggest database of live jobs across the Gulf region.
I think they are looking for native English teachers.

Assalaamu 'Alaykum Mohammad,
This is the Al-Jazeera you are referring to: http://aljazeeraacademy.com/ and I think this is the advert you saw: http://www.eslcafe.com/joblist/index.cgi?read=16584
I was considering them, and I even visited them in Riyadh (Khalid -mod edit - is the deputy director). The pay is ok, place seemed nice, teachers were happy enough (they have 3 westerners, rest are arabs) but the hours put me off. Unfortunately these types of hours can be expected from any language institute.
Mohammad PM me I may have something better. |

Does anyone have any further up to date feedback on this academy - either having worked there or had communication with them? |

Did you do a search? A few more threads showed up like this one:

With the Arabic website, that suggests that there are few, if any, native speakers of English. Probably only an option if you also speak Arabic.

It's an academy. you will be working split shifts. Split shifts are not intolerable, especially at first. As you've been working there a while they will grow old. |

Don't waste your time, if you are considering working for them. The person I was dealing with got upset every time I asked relevant questions about the job and other questions I deemed important. They told me I wasn't "serious" and blamed me for not asking these question during the interview. I'm really suspicious about companies that evasive to a potential employee anyway when it concerns employee support. |
