|
|
Hello everybody,
I am conducting research on foreign EFL teachers' perceptions on teaching in KSA. The aim is to analyze a diversity of issues affecting them on the personal, professional, sociological/cultural levels. Of course, this questionnaire is strictly anonymous.
I would be utterly grateful for your help!

Done.
However, is this for a project or what will you do with the data? it seems a little vague on what you plan on doing with this. |

It is for my studies. My research interest is about the switch to English as language of instruction in KSA's higher ed., with the subsequent creation of Prep Year programs and the mass recruitment of foreign teachers to teach EFL. I am trying to identify the source of problems I have witnessed throughout my career here, on the instructional/pedagogical, cultural and religious levels.
Thanks a lot for taking the survey! |

Fact is, English is "imposed" on Saudi students. There's no point in doing a survey on it. Imagine if the rest of the world had to study, do teacher training etc .... in Arabic. There'd be a hell of a drop out rate. |

"Fact is, English is "imposed" on Saudi students. "
That is exactly what I'm trying to analyze: the cultural, sociological and pedagogical effects (and particularly the negative ones) this switch to English as a language of instruction has had on both students and teachers alike. |

Two points:
1. Last time I checked, Wales was part of the UK.
2. You've made it possible to be in two age groups. |

Perhaps this was not an error. I have been repeatedly assured through reading this forum that teaching in Saudi will put ten years on you. |

Thanks Bigduiran! Yes, Wales is in the UK: I pasted a list of all the countries in the world, and failed to see that... thanks for the age group numbering... would be interesting to see which group people chose! I guess the "younger" one! Unfortunately I cannot change it right now, otherwise the previous responses on age will be deleted... Mushkila. |

I think you'll find more English teachers from Australia than Austria. I was able to choose NZ as I have dual nationality. |

This survey wasn't made very well if there are errors like the ones mentioned on here. I don't get what he is trying to do with the limited data. Anyways, I did part one. Curious on what the findings are and how the OP will use it to make it a better place to work. |

I think the lifestyle is important for survival there. Can you go to class and deal with the passive attitudes towards education? Can you stay indoors for weeks on end? |

Wales is a part of England. It was incorporated by Henry VIII. |

FWIW, "STRICTLY ANONYMOUS" is a tautology.

it will not be possible to withdraw from the study after you have completed the questionnaire because your data will not be able to be identified. |
so you are getting an email address as your first response of a questionnaire but that email address data isn't delivered with the rest of the survey responses? Either way, presumably people know what responses they gave and can therefore request that withdrawal at a later date if they want, no?
Not that I've filled it in. The study seems far too ambitious in its design to actually be worthwhile:
