hi all. just wanting to know from the women or those with high level japanese how i'd go about explaining thrush. you know, yeast infection and all that.

it's for my partner, who is korean. neither of us speak japanese yet and all the searches in the world can't seem to get what we want.

do any of you know a specific cream available over the counter that treats thrush? if so what's it called and how do i say it? so far the drug stores have given her generic rash creams that are essentially useless.

or where big english speaking drug stores are located

any help much appreciated. we live in chiba.

Cant really help you there, but the dictionary definition of thrush is

"chitsu-en". From the looks of the kanji is a vaginal yeast infection.

You can ask for a medication called "Diflucan" or apo-flucozonol, either. It is an oral medication that works much better than the creams. It will be gone in a day with this medication, and like 2-3 days maybe with the creams but they are messy and uncomfortable.

I never found anything that worked over the counter in Japan. You can either ask someone from home to send it and then order (future) supplies from the foreign buyers' club. Your girlfriend will have to go a a doctor to get decent meds.
