| I applied to AEON two weeks ago and was told that I would hear back from them within this length of time if I was invited to a group interview/information session. So far, I haven't heard anything. Needless to say, I'm feeling like the biggest reject. Question is: Do a lot of people NOT even make it to this point? I had to ask this because it seems as though most, if not everyone, manages to make it to this point even though not everyone gets an offer of employment. What do you think? |

They reject people who look like they can actually get a decent job in Japan, know how to teach, or can seak the language fairly well.
I'm actually thinking of rejecting them. I have a group interview coming up and I feel like just cancelling. The more I read about the eikaiwa industry, the more I think its a scam. |

I sense someone has a beef with Aeon? Seriously though, all the people who got a call back from the first day of interviews were the people wearing suits, with short hair, good lessons and people skills.
I found Aeon was very punctual with their reply. The said they would contact me with a job offer in two weeks and it was only 10 days.
Perhaps you might want to give them a call. They told me after they offered me an interview to call if I had any questions or concerns.
Just my 2 cents. |

I don't have beef with Aeon, I said I HAD AN INTERVIEW (WITH THEM) coming up. I have beef with the eikaiwa industry because I'm starting to feel they provide a product that doesn't do what it's supposed to.
They're the only eikaiwa I'd consider working for, but now I'm not really considering working for an eikaiwa. |

I think you misread my initial post. I said I DID NOT EVEN GET AN OFFER TO ATTEND THE GROUP INTERVIEW/INFORMATION SESSION. I am royally po'd about it. I am asking if this is normal since most people seem to make it at least to this point. There is NO JOB OFFER to worry about or whether I dressed appropriately or not. They already told me to f*** off without even giving me a chance to prove myself. |

I don't agree with this. I found out a few days ago that a friend of mine, who is a high school teacher by profession, had been accepted by AEON back in the day. He has plenty of experience and is good at what he does. He ended up not going as he got a raise where he worked at the time (in Toronto). |

| Jazz 1975, I highly doubt that it reflects on you personally. I'd guess it's more about numbers of applicants or quotas they have to fill. |

Sorry to ask a dumb question, but could you please expand on that? I'm just trying to get a feel of possible reasons I could've been rejected. I'm thinking of calling them tomorrow to get some general feedback. I'm just smartin' from this. I feel like the biggest loser right now. Like who the f*** doesn't AT LEAST make it to the group inter | |
