At this moment in time for the life of me after trawling through numerous lists of artists and group names that are currently the vogue I am hard pressed to think of 5 let alone 10,the same goes for films and videos , maybe I should stay home more and watch mtv !
Maybe music these days is so mediocre ,I don't know ,very little of it excites me .
Your lack of response thus far would suggest I'm not the only one .

Wow! Thats a first! Nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks that the music today has lost its sparkle .Maybe the demise of TOTP has something to do with it .Just kidding .

There is a lot of excellent music out there these days, this year even. You just have to look. It won't be spoon fed to you by the media, and it probably isn't signed to major labels. I don't have time just now to compile a list as thorugh as our Baba has, but i want to add a few others that were lovely this year- Tom Waits put out a new (well, 3 new) Cd, and there was lovely stuff from Cat Power and Jose Gonzales and Alejancro Escovedo, M. Ward, Regina Spektor (oops- mentioned- just noted), The Decemberists... etc ad naseum.

Stop being such knicker twiters.
